ABOUT US

  • The Youth Computer Training Centres (YCTCs) in West Bengal, India, are a state government initiative to provide affordable and accessible computer education to its youth. The first YCTC, Computer Training Institute under State Youth Centre, Moulali, Kolkata, was set up in 1996 by the Sports & Youth Services Department to offer low-cost, job-oriented computer education to empower young people, especially from underserved areas. Computer Training Institute under State Youth Centre, Moulali, Kolkata remains the most popular and best YCTC in the state, despite YCTCs making gradual expansion to sub-divisional headquarters and rural regions.

  • Under Chief Minister Sri Suvendu Adhikari's s leadership, the YCTC initiative received renewed emphasis as part of a broader vision to empower youth and bolster technical education. The government highlighted the uniformity of course tenure, curriculum, and subsidized fees, significantly lower than private institutes, as a cornerstone of the program. This aligned with the state’s “Egiye Bangla” campaign to drive progress through education and skill development.
