TEXT BOOK- The textbook is thoroughly taught & fully explained.

PRACTICAL- Sufficient  computer time allotted for  each  student, Friendly atmosphere & taught With great Care.

First 6 Months: Foundations

  1. Introduction to Computers

  • Overview of Computers

    • Definition, types, and uses in everyday life (desktop, laptop, tablet)

  • Components of a Computer

    • Introduction to hardware and software

    • Basic components: CPU, monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc.

  • Basic Operating System Navigation

    • Introduction to Windows or macOS

    • Exploring the desktop, taskbar, and starting applications

  1. Keyboarding and Mouse Skills

  • Introduction to typing (using a typing tutor or typing games)

  • Familiarity with keyboard layout: letters, numbers, special keys

  • Practicing proper mouse control, right and left-clicks, and scrolling

  1. Input and Output Devices

  • Types of input devices: keyboard, mouse, microphone, scanner, etc.

  • Types of output devices: monitor, printer, speakers, etc.

  • Activity: Identifying and using various input/output devices

  1. Introduction to Paint and Basic Drawing

  • Using MS Paint or a similar drawing program

  • Basic tools: shapes, lines, fill, eraser, and text tools

  • Practical task: Creating simple drawings, like landscapes or shapes

  1. File Management Basics

  • Creating and saving files, renaming and deleting files

  • Organizing files into folders

  • Activity: Creating a basic folder structure to organize files by topic

  1. Introduction to Word Processing

  • Overview of MS Word (or Google Docs) basics

  • Creating, editing, and saving documents

  • Formatting text (font, size, color) and paragraph alignment

  • Practical task: Creating a simple document (e.g., a personal introduction)

  1. Internet Basics and Safe Browsing

  • Introduction to the internet, web browsers, and search engines

  • Safe browsing tips: identifying reliable sites, internet safety

  • Activity: Safe internet search on a chosen educational topic

Second 6 Months: Intermediate Skills and Projects

  1. Advanced Word Processing

  • More formatting techniques: bullet points, numbering, headers, footers

  • Inserting images, symbols, and shapes into a document

  • Practical task: Creating a small report with images and formatted text

  1. Introduction to Presentations

  • Introduction to MS PowerPoint (or Google Slides)

  • Creating and editing slides with text and images

  • Adding transitions and basic animations

  • Practical task: Creating a short presentation on a chosen topic

  1. Basics of Spreadsheets

  • Introduction to MS Excel (or Google Sheets)

  • Understanding cells, rows, and columns

  • Basic data entry and cell formatting

  • Practical task: Creating a table to record daily activities or hobbies

  1. Simple Calculations and Formulas in Spreadsheets

  • Introduction to basic formulas (addition, subtraction)

  • Organizing and sorting data

  • Activity: Creating a chart or graph from data entered

  1. Introduction to Coding with Scratch

  • Basics of coding concepts: algorithms, sequences, loops

  • Introduction to Scratch programming

  • Creating simple projects, such as animations or stories

  • Practical task: Making a character move and interact in Scratch

  1. Multimedia Basics

  • Basics of audio and video recording

  • Adding multimedia elements to projects (e.g., a presentation with sound)

  • Activity: Recording a short video or audio introduction

  1. Final Project (Integration of All Skills)

  • Combining word processing, presentations, and data management

  • Examples of projects:

    • Presentation on “My Favorite Hobby”

    • Data table with charts (e.g., family tree or personal records)

  • Presentation Day: Students present their final projects to the class
